It is the intention of "Psalteria" to popularize music for zither, a traditional alpine string instrument. Harald Oberlechner and Isolde Jordan, both instructors at the Tyrol State Music Conservatory in Innsbruck, Austria, number among those zither players who explore the technical and musical possibilities of the instrument in that they edit, perform and document early music, new music and jazz arrangements (Psalteria Publishers, Psalteriton CDs) without forgetting the zither's roots in folk music.
